Walking the Grounds of Basswood RV Resort

The sun came out for a while today.  I decided to take advantage and go for a walk on the grounds.  I left the RV and walked to the small country store here at Basswood Resort.  Then I followed the trail that takes me by the fishing ponds.  At this point, I've just passed an area for weekend RV'ers & a row of several cabin rentals.  At the end of this road there is a community meeting room and a large bathhouse.  The road will continue on forward to a staging area and other cabins.  I,  however, turned right and the road circles around and takes me up a hill to another road that goes back to the rv park section for long term RVers.

Family is Everything

This post at family finders caught my eye.  It seems to be an Ohio story, but Littlefield, TX is in the mix.  I thought I would post and see if any of my Littlefield family or friends may know something about this.

Happy Birthday, Veronica

What a beauty.  She is almost the exact copy of her oldest sister, Gabrielle.  I haven't seen Veronica in many years, but I think of her so often.  My fondest memory of her is when I went to pick her up at school one day because she was sick.  I brought her to my Mom's house & she sat at the kitchen table with me watching my mom make an apple pie.  She sat so quiet in deep concentration.  It was as if she was trying to actually learn every step to be able to duplicate it later.  Veronica is one of the daughters of my brother, Tracy.  When she was younger she tended to be very quiet and always following Gabrielle around.  When Faith joined the family, the parents and sisters referred to Veronica and Faith as the babies.  Soon we'd all refer to them as the babies.  My prayers are that she is blessed and filled with peace and love.  I pray to one day see her again.  She owns a very special part of my heart.  My son, Joseph, saw Veronica as a baby only once.

FT HOOD Tragedy

Giving thanks for Ft Hood survivors. Praying for strength for all who have lost loved ones. Hoping for understanding as to why someone that took so much from our government thought he could do this.

He thought he deserved to not go overseas.  My own son served his 6 years in Afghaniston & Iraq. (No degree, no 1/2 million dollar education paid by Uncle Sam.) Just a child that returned a man.  Continuing to work in Law Enforcement.

Thankful for all our soldiers, law enforcement officers, first responders and their families.

?  Is deployment for a short time worse than a lifetime in prison?
