I gather much of my news on the web. One site that I tend to follow is AOLNEWS. I submitted my opinion after the President's State of the Union Address. I was pleased to find that they included my opinion in their article, Opinion: America Reacts to State of the Union Speech.
In my own family, I can easily see how much we've advanced by becoming better educated. The difficulty, however, not only for minorities, but for all Americans, continues to be the inability to afford the high cost of higher education.
I will continue to follow changes that will be helpful as my nephews and nieces are now beginning to graduate from high school. Not only would affordable college education be helpful, but meanwhile, more information should be made available to students in 9th and 10th grade regarding scholarships, grants, and student loans.
